7/1/2023 0 Comments Concrete genie genie moments![]() It tended to work exactly as I intended, but the choice was nice. The game does hold your hand a bit as you never need much precision. I found the motion controls to be perfectly simple and I never had issue painting just what I wanted. Painting is fairly simple, you can either use the controller’s motion controls to move the cursor around the screen or use the right stick. You’ll be painting with almost no restrictions at times making the game world begin to quickly take on a unique identity that gives the game a personal flair, where each area feels your individual artistic approach. At any time you can hit the right trigger and bring up a cursor, choose from available art templates and paint the walls of the town. You are then introduced to the mechanic at the heart of the experience: painting. Taking this newfound power to heart, he sets to covering the town in his art and bringing light and beauty back to the desolate town. After Ash’s sketchbook is torn up by these local bullies, he finds himself face to face with his creations come to life on the walls of Denska’s sad and hollow facade. Against his parents’ express wishes, Ash spends his time there where he has his fondest memories. This leaves the town deserted and ripe for the mild vandalism caused by a roving gang of miscreant kids. ![]() The setup is that the protagonist, Ash, and his family are from the docking town of Denska that was ravaged by an oil spill which causes the local economy to dry up, the local populace to migrate inland, and infects the town with some sort of impenetrable darkness. ![]() Painting the game’s environments was inherently enjoyable, but how much you get out of the game really comes down to your appreciation of the artwork you cover the town in. I had a good time with Concrete Genie, but the game really puts much of the onus on you to find the fun in the face of lackluster gameplay. Where the game falters is in delivering gameplay surrounding those mechanics that matches that level of inspiration. ![]() Concrete Genie has a good central mechanic in its magic paintbrush. ![]() 7/1/2023 0 Comments Dockatot deluxe review![]() ![]() The Dockatot Deluxe+ comes in over 12 different cover designs, so I’m sure there will be a design to suit your nursery color scheme. Our little one was still using the Dockatot at 12 months (But I do recognize that babies are different sizes). Whilst the Dockatot state that the Deluxe is designed for the 0-8 months age range, I think this is conservative. The Deluxe is designed for babies from birth, the grand is designed for older babies to toddlers. Dockatot offers two models, the Deluxe and the Grand. As a parent, when you’re asleep you don’t have the same awareness for your little one or ability to intervene if they need help. At night time babies are in effect unsupervised and often in a different room. Safety was a key consideration for me when looking at baby loungers. I wanted to check that I could buy different covers or replacement pads and foam parts Safety Also, buying a baby lounger can be quite an investment. We all know how much babies can make a mess, so I wanted to make sure it was easy to wash the baby lounger. I found that Dockatot Deluxe+ can fit a baby until they reach 8 – 10 months. That’s why I carefully checked out the dimensions for each of the loungers I looked at. Some baby loungers are only suitable for little ones for the first few months. I wanted a lounger that my baby wouldn’t grow out of too quickly. I also considered the size of the lounger. But I also wanted to make sure that the material the lounger is made from was nice and soft for little E’s delicate skin. The lounger should be suitably firm, but this may be affected by what surface the lounger is on. I wanted to make sure that the lounger I picked would be as comfortable as possible for my baby. The series makes for a good binge, even if the ending doesn’t quite live up to the twists and turns that it takes to arrive there. We saw the temporal cave in Winden (turned into a wormhole thanks to the nuclear plant's radioactive waste), as well as Noah's Ark - a torture-like chair used to. Netflix's Dark offered us a look at three key time machines in Season 1. It’s a reflection of the Möbius strip the characters are trapped in, trying to use time travel to break the cycle even as time travel is what got them stuck in the first place. WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for Season 2 of Dark, streaming now on Netflix. The name of the series might seem disconnected, but the Greek myth of Sisyphus, who cheated dying twice and was sentenced by Zeus to roll a boulder up the same hill every day, ties to the core of the plot. This leads to the paradox of one copy being erased and adds an extra level of danger for all time travelers. The copy can’t get too close to the original, because two files can’t exist in the same space at the same time. Originally starting in a 2019 setting, it focuses on the quiet fictional German town Winden, which is really wrapped in webs of deceit. Seo-hae and Tae-sul are up against Sigma, a mysterious man who monopolizes the time travel business in the present and future through his vast wealth and knowledge of the past.īut the most intriguing aspect of this time travel technology is that the downloaded future version of a person is considered a copy. Netflixs Dark is one of the most intricate time-travel TV series ever. While the setting of the series gives the characters more freedom to change their fate, this only works if they can outwit the enemy. This results in time loops overwriting each other, and it’s thrilling to figure out which loop the current story rests on. There are no parallel universes, and every moment is constantly in flux. Sisyphus takes a different approach, where the future is an echo of a mutable past. The former is like Terminator, the latter is like the branching paths of Marvel’s multiverse. That raises a question: Does time travel uphold the timeline, or is time susceptible to changes based on our whims? This emotional drive is one of the main threads of the series, and it creates a time loop that unravels as the story progresses. Because of the danger, most people who take the risk are fueled by the desire to fix something they regret. If the download fails - and it often does - it causes a messy error. ![]() Here, in the tough post-apocalyptic world Seo-hae comes from, people “download” themselves into the past via a process that relies on the FOS protein, which governs the body’s biometric clock. While the technology isn’t fully explained, it’s a departure from the typical wormhole or quantum nonsense that most sci-fi movies use to handwave away their time shenanigans. ![]() |
